Karaoke Jockeys
What is a karaoke
jockey? A karaoke jockey is more commonly known as the
Karaoke Host or the emcee running a karaoke show.
Many karaoke jockeys (KJ's) are former DJ's or working
concurrently as DJ's.
If you are someone who
enjoys singing for your supper, you will be happy to find
out
you can
actually
make money
singing and emceeing a karaoke show, without being a recognized
star. In fact, if you approach it from a business perspective
you
can
earn
a
lot more money than the price of a good dinner.
According to the American
Disc Jockey Association, the
national
average earned in the DJ (including KJs)
industry for running a 4-hour gig is $1,200. Of course
to be successful, you are going to need to know a little
more about the craft
than just how to sing. You will not only need to hone your
stage presence (SP) but also become skilled at operating
the equipment, orchestrating the event, marketing your
efforts, and accounting for your progress.
Whether you
are focusing strictly on building a karaoke entertainment
business or are a DJ thinking of adding karaoke,
we invite you to add your listing to our database by becoming
a member of the Guild. Our
