| Representing
the American Karaoke Guild |
|
Members will strive to be on time for any meetings
held in geospace or cyberspace for which they
have committed their presence. They are authorized
to act as representatives of the Guild as specifically
indicated in their assignments or volunteer job
descriptions; otherwise, they may freely state
that they are members of and support the Guild.
Prior to taking any actions or making statements
that would appear to or subsequently obligate
the Guild in any way, members must obtain clearance
from Guild administration. Members recognize
that their service is strictly voluntary, at
the sole discretion of the Guild and membership
may be terminated by the Guild, for any reason
at any time.
|
| Performing
Karaoke |
|
When performing karaoke in a public venue or
before a private group, members agree to abide
by the Guild's Karaoke
Commandments .
|
| Confidentiality |
|
Members are responsible for maintaining the
confidentiality of all proprietary or privileged
information to which they are exposed while serving
as an American Karaoke Guild Volunteer, whether
said information involves a fellow member or
industry representative at large. Failure to
maintain confidentiality may result in corrective
action or immediate termination of the member's
relationship with the Guild.
|
| Communications |
|
Members are expected to follow the Rules
of Netiquette in all online communication
venues where they are representing the Guild
or community members could conceive them to
be representing the Guild in any way. Volunteers
must not knowingly disseminate false or misleading
information. They agree to correct promptly
upon discovery any errors in communications
for which they are directly responsible and
to notify Guild administration immediately
of communication errors made by others so that
appropriate corrective action can be taken
post haste.
Volunteers agree to avoid making extravagant
claims, unfair comparisons, or taking credit
for ideas or words originating from others. In
all communications on behalf of the Guild, volunteers
will strive to give credit where due and to get
appropriate permission to use any ideas or words
contributed by others prior to use.
At any point in performing services in conjunction
with the Guild a volunteer receives e-mail communications
considered offensive or inappropriate for any
reason, the volunteer is encouraged and responsible
for forwarding the communication in question
and any pertinent details to Guild administration
for appropriate follow-up.
|
| Collaboration |
|
The Guild is a literary and artistic undertaking.
Its success is highly dependent on maintaining
a cooperative spirit among members. As such,
it is the responsibility of each volunteer to
share knowledge and ideas with focus on opportunities
and challenges of issues, not people, particularly
not specific individuals or private enterprises.
|
| Content Ownership |
|
Unless otherwise agreed separately to in writing
with the Guild, any content produced by volunteers
for this program, including but not limited to
graphic design elements or concepts, narrative
works, research findings and compilations, instructional
materials, becomes the joint property of the
Volunteer and the Guild publisher upon submission.
The Guild will strive to give all content contributors
appropriate credit for any work published on
this Web site and affiliated Web sites or where
released for publication in any other medium.
It is the Volunteer's sole responsibility to
apprise the Guild administration when appropriate
attribution has not been realized.
|

Your privacy and safety are of utmost concern
to the Guild. While all Volunteers are screened
prior to acceptance in this project and pertinent
contact information is provided to the Guild
administration, the only information required
of volunteers to share with each other and any
member of the public is the e-mail address used
for their communications on behalf of this Guild.

information on online communication forums and
are individually responsible for maintaining
the safety and security of their personal information.
Neither the Guild nor fellow volunteers will
be held liable for any personal information shared
